Some more aggressive play calling is in order here, at least on first and goal. Or maybe they need to go for the end zone from between the 20 and 30. I'm not sure why they have Marko Mitchell active if they're not going to use him in the Red Zone. I still think that the Redskins will pull this one out because the Rams have only stopped them once, but they need to put the Rams away at some point.
14:00—Griffin had a pass hit him in the gut but he couldn't hold on. After one first down, the Rams will punt.
10:03—The Redskins with another drive going, almost into St. Louis territory. They haven't had a problem getting drives going, they have problems finishing them.
9:45—Kelly was wide open on a deep slant, Campbell didn't see him and threw incomplete.
9:40—Nice poise shown by Campbell has he hangs in the pocket and fires to Cooley for 18 yards to convert a third and 10.
6:32—So Zorn thinks that the answer to the inside the 10 woes is a Portis option pass. Had it worked, it would have come back for a holding call anyway.
FG Suisham 23
Redskins 9, Rams 7
That now makes 22 points left on the field. The Redskins have nearly outgained the Rams 2-1 and they lead by two. They have a nine-minute advantage in time of possession. Campbell has passed for 195 yards. But they can't put them away. It looks like the Redskins will need a defensive score if they're going to win this one.
1:00—Bulger was shaken up a bit after scrambling for three. He slid and got clobbered in the process. Goes to show that sliding doesn't always protect you. He appears to be OK but the Rams did have to call a timeout. Third and about seven. Again, third and long has not bee good for the Redskins.
:50—Thirteen yards on third and seven. Here we go again.
