The injury report for Sunday' Redskins-Panthers game is out and punter Hunter Smith is listed as being out of the game. This means that the newly-acquired Glenn Pakulak will be moved from the practice squad to the active roster and a player will have to be either released or placed on injured reserve.
I speculated here earlier in the week that defensive tackle Anthony Montgomery could be placed on season-ending injured reserve. He is listed as doubtful and if he missed the game that will mean he will not have taken a snap all year. The Redskins are pretty well loaded at defensive tackle even though Cornelius Griffin is questionable with an elbow injury.
Another possibility is that Renaldo Wynn will be waived. As a veteran, his salary became guaranteed after he was on the 53-man roster for the first game. He could stick around town until Smith is healed and then sign again when Pakulak is waived.
Another player who has been inactive all year is linebacker Robert Henson. After the Twitter blowup following the team's Week 2 win over the Rams it seems unlikely that anyone would claim him off of waivers and he also could be asked to stay nearby pending Smith's return and Pakulak's release.
The other Redskin listed on the injury report is Chris Samuels, who is probable.
