Rex Grossman passed for 305 yards in the Redskins’ win over the Giants yesterday. He has started the Washington Redskins’ last four games and he has thrown for over 300 yards in three of them.
It has been quite some time since a Washington quarterback had such a stretch of games. The last time that a Redskins quarterback passed for over 300 yards three times in a four-game span was back in 1969. Sonny Jurgensen pitched for over 300 yards on November 2, 16, and 23 for coach Vince Lombardi back in 1969.
To be sure, the Redskins lost both of those 300-yard games by Rex last year so it is not necessarily a trend that the team would like to continue. But it does mean that he can move the ball through the air in Kyle Shanahan’s offense, with the caveat that four games is a small sample size.

Sonny and the 'Skins lost 2 of 3 of those games while Sonny threw 8 interceptions.
