The Redskins have formally announced that cornerback Phillip Buchanon has been reinstated to the active roster after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
The press relese also said that the Redskins released cornerback Brandyn Thompson to make room for Buchanon. The rookie was added to the practice squad after clearing waivers. Nate Ness was cut from the practice squad so that Thompson could be added.
All of these moves were reported last week by various sources.
