Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.
Orakpo was credited with 2.5 sacks of Rams quarterback Sam Bradford. In addition he had two tackles for loss and three quarterback hits. He was a major force on defense as the Redskins held the Rams to 172 yards, the fewest they have allowed since 2007.
This is the second time Orakpo has won the award. He also won it as a rookie in Week 14 in 2009.
