The 3-4 Redskins are desperate for a win but they host a hot team in the 6-1 49ers. Can the home team pull out the W? Our CSN Redskins team predicts.

Six years ago, the 49ers came to FedEx with a first-year head coach (Mike Nolan), were 13.5-point underdogs and were destroyed 52-17 by the Redskins. San Francisco visits Sunday with another first-year head coach (Jim Harbaugh) but with a 6-1 record and 3.5-point favorites. The Niners are rolling and their running game is on the league’s best, a bad match-up for a Redskins team that has struggled to slow anybody down the last three games. The losing streak reaches four games.

The Redskins say they are over Sunday's 23-0 drubbing by the Bills, and yet it's likely that John Beck is still bruised from the record 10 sacks he absorbed; both his body and his ego.
A Redskins roster riddled with injuries will have an uphill battle putting points on the board versus a San Fran team who has allowed the fewest points per game in the league with 15.3. The Skins have struggled offensively all year and Sunday, Washington will be relying on rookies as their main offensive threat Fred Davis was limited in practice this week as a result of an ankle injury.
On the other side of the ball, it is imperative that London Fletcher and company stop the run. That is the one quiz they must ace, but they will be tested as the 49ers rank 6th in the NFL averaging 128 yards per game. Week in and week out, Redskins Nation laments that the Skins 'D' needs to be consistently solid. This week we will find out if they are the real deal.
Expect Washington's D to rise to the occasion, but shutting down Frank Gore who is has already picked up 5 touchdowns this season, might prove to be too daunting of a task.

It seems like every week a team falls into a trap in a game like this. A team on a roll faces one that is in a slump when it’s over the struggling team stuns the hot team. We saw it when the Eagles came in and knocked off the Redskins and when the Seahawks went in and stunned the Giants. So, a Redskins win is not out of the question, especially if they are able to stop Frank Gore from having his fifth straight game with 125 yards or more rushing. Still, it is hard to see the Redskins winning this one. The 49ers are not the ’85 Bears but right now they have too much for the Redskins.
