The Bills have announced that they have re-signed wide receiver Stevie Johnson. The deal is reported to be for five years and $36.25 million.
That is not a good development for the Redskins, who are likely to be looking for a top free agent wide receiver when the market opens up in a week.
The Redskins were not necessarily targeting Johnson. However, the law of supply and demand dictate that the removal of one top free agent from the market means that the price for the ones remaining will go up.
Johnson may not be the only receiver to come off of the market today. The Chiefs are expected to franchise tag Dwayne Bowe. There have been mixed signals about whether or not the Chargers’ Vincent Jackson, expected to be the Redskins prime target, will get tagged. The deadline is today at 4 p.m.
