One of the Redskins’ division rivals suffered a big blow on the injury front.
The Eagles have announced that Jason Peters, their Pro Bowl left tackle, has suffered a ruptured left Achilles tendon. He will have surgery on Tuesday.
The team said that the injury occurred while Peters was training.
The usual rehab for such an injury is 9-12 months which would put Peters out for the 2012 season.
Peters is considered to be among the top left tackles in the game and is one on Philadelphia’s very best players. The Eagles did sign King Dunlap, who backed up Peters last year, to a one-year contract this morning.
