The Redskins are looking into holding training camp in Richmond.
According to a report on a local TV station, Dan Snyder and other Redskins officials visited and toured several places in the city including City Stadium, the former home of the Richmond Spiders football team. They moved to an on-campus stadium last year.
Snyder and the others visited the downtown Marriott hotel, the Greater Richmond Convention Center and some places on the VCU campus in addition to the stadium.
Mayor Dwight Jones confirmed to a local reporter that the Redskins were considering holding training camp in Richmond and were touring to examine not only practice space but meeting and lodging facilities as well.
The team has had its training camp at its training facility in Ashburn, Virginia since 2003.
