The Redskins’ pursuit of Peyton Manning has begun.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN the team has contacted Manning’s camp to express their interest in signing the quarterback, who became an ex-Indianapolis Colt as of 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
Schefter reported that a total of 12 teams have contacted Manning’s representatives. The Redskins are among the favorites to land his service. However, most are saying that the Arizona Cardinals have the best shot at him thanks to a combination of a favorable playing environment in University of Phoenix Stadium, which has a retractable roof, and a solid receiver corps led by Larry Fitzgerald.
