When I passed along the report from Chick Hernandez that Kyle Shanahan is visiting Robert Griffin III in Waco, Texas between now, and the draft, I went on the assumption that the Redskins checked to make sure that such visits are legal. Some on Twitter questioned it, however, so I thought it would be good to double check.
I reached out to Greg Aiello of the NFL to ask about the league's policy on such things and here is his response:
This is perfectly okay as long as it is in the metro area of the player's hometown or college, and there is no time limit.
So, there it is. You can get visions of draft pick penalties out of your heads now, at least regarding this.
