If the Redskins’ $36 million salary cap penalty stands, there won’t be much of a salary cap bump to help out the $18 million portion of it that will come next year.
Texans owner Bob McNair, who is the chairman of the league’s finance committee, said that there won’t be much of an increase in the salary cap near future.
“It’s staying pretty flat for several years,” McNair told the Sports Business Journal last week. The cap will gradually increase after 2014.
