Former Redskins personnel chief Vinny Cerrato created a lot of bad news over the years with questionable moves. Today, in his current role as a radio host, he broke some bad news, at least as far as the Baltimore Ravens are concerned.
On 105.7 FM in Baltimore, Cerrato reported that Terrell Suggs suffered a torn Achilles tendon and is likely out for the season. The 2011 NFL defensive player of the year reportedly suffered the injury while playing pickup basketball in Arizona.
The injury means that Suggs, who had 14 sacks and forced seven fumbles last year, almost certainly will not be in the lineup when the Redskins play the Ravens at FedEx Field on Dec. 9.
Update: For those of you who might not quite trust Cerrato as a source for breaking news, the report has been confirmed by Adam Schefter and Jason La Canfora, among others.
