Just this morning we wrote that signing draft picks would be a fairly simple process. This afternoon we got confirmation of that.
The Redskins announced that they have signed two of the players they tabbed in the draft last Saturday, cornerback Richard Crawford and safety Jordan Bernstine. Both were taken in the seventh round last Saturday.
It is standard for all draft picks to sign four-year deals, other details of the contracts are not immediately known.
Crawford will compete for a spot at cornerback behind Josh Wilson, DeAngelo Hall and Cedric Griffin. Bernstine steps into a crowded position but one with opportunity as there is no real clarity on the depth chart at this early stage.

You did not mention Kevin Barnes as a contender for a roster spot. Was this by accident or did he play as poorly last year as I and others think? I thought he would be a better, more consistent player by now. Surely he is going to have to pick up his play to make the roster.

I didn't mention any of the corners beside the starters + nickel back. There is Barnes, Brandyn Thompson, and Leigh Torrence. But I do think that Barnes is on the bubble, no doubt.
