Move over Today, Good Morning America, and Mike & Mike. You're about to get some company.
An all-out blitz of NFL coverage will be starting just after training camps crank up. And it will be continuing through the season, the Super Bowl, the draft, and the summer.
That rush of news, notes, and features comes in the form of a four-hour NFL Network program that will be live every weekday morning 52 weeks per year.
Just when you thought that coverage of the league couldn’t get any more saturated, NFL AM will be on Monday through Friday at 6 a. m. Eastern time starting July 30. The league will officially announce the show today, according to USA Today.
The show will originate in Los Angeles, where the NFL Network is headquartered. That means that the lights will go on at 3 a. m. local time.
"It's mind-boggling how much content is out there," NFLN executive producer Eric Weinberger told USA Today. "How can you fill up four hours dedicated to the NFL every morning? It's surprisingly easier that it sounds."
We will see just how easy it is to pull off starting late next month. I have a pretty big appetite for NFL coverage but an added 1,040 hours per year might be a bit over the top. What do you think?
