Three notes, quotes or observations on Robert Griffin III:
--RG3 on the pressure he faces in Washington: “I don’t look at it as pressure. If anything, it makes me want to go out and get to work sooner. They believe in me. That’s why they gave up so many picks for me. There have been a lot of great quarterbacks that have had terrible rookie years. I don’t want to be that guy. I’m going to do everything I can to make sure I’m not that guy. Peyton Manning didn’t have a great year as a rookie, and now he’s considered one of the best of all-time. You’ve just got to work through the bumps and try to succeed in whatever ways you can.”
--Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning both changed teams but in the month of May there were more RG3 jerseys sold than there were of Tebow, Manning, or any other player.
--The acquisition of Griffin was a factor in London Fletcher’s decision to come back and sign another contract with the Redskins: “Obviously, them being able to get into that second pick was something huge for me. I’m a guy. I’m in my 15th season, to go into another year with not having a quarterback was not very appealing to me. I’ll tell you that. So, when they were able to make the trade, knowing we would be getting either Andrew Luck or him that definitely made the situation a lot brighter as far as coming back here. So you know, I’ve had enough years of other stuff.”
