London Fletcher was not limited in practice Wednesday and should be able to play Saturday against the Colts, Coach Mike Shanahan said.
“I would say unless there is a setback, he should be ready to go,” Shanahan said after practice at Redskins Park.
Fletcher, 37, has been granted a handful of maintenance days throughout training camp, but last week Shanahan revealed that he was coping with an undisclosed ailment. He did not suit up Saturday in Chicago.
Both Fletcher and Shanahan have declined to specify what’s ailing the standout linebacker and team leader.
“We actually had contact today; pretty good contact,” Shanahan added. “It was almost a live situation, except not taking guys to the ground. And it didn’t look like he had any setbacks. So, hopefully, there’s none and he’ll be ready to go.”
Fletcher, who led the NFL in tackles last season with 166, is entering his 15th season, sixth with the Redskins.
