Here is what you need to know on this Tuesday, 10 days before the Redskins make their final cuts.
Griffin, starters to play two-plus quarters against the Colts
Yesterday Mike Shanahan reiterated something he had said earlier concerning the playing time that Robert Griffin III and the rest of the offensive starters will have on Saturday against the Colts. The starters will play the first half plus the first series in the third quarter. Then the pads will come off and Griffin and the rest will become spectators.
As noted here yesterday, the Redskins first team has played a total of only 40 snaps in the first two preseason games. The reasons are many, including an inability to sustain drives and two turnovers.
Even some of the positive things that have happened to the team have worked against getting RG3 getting more work. On Saturday with 1:29 left in the first half Brandon Banks returned a punt 91 yards for a touchdown. An exciting play but it prevented Griffin and the Redskins from coming onto the field for one last series that would have give the rookie quarterback some valuable experience in the two-minute drill.
Today’s schedule
—11:15 open locker room
—1:00 practice (closed to media after first 30 minutes)
—Following practice (approx.. 3 p.m.) Mike Shanahan addresses media
In case you missed it
Griffin said that he’s facing the Colts’ defense on Saturday, not Andrew Luck.
The first of our 20 questions in 20 days counting down to the season opener deals with Jammal Brown’s prospects of putting on a uniform this year.
The Redskins did not come out of the Chicago game in as bad a shape on the injury front as many thought, but there we won’t see Orakpo or Meriweather until the regular season at the earliest.
Days until: RG3 vs. Luck @ FedEx Field 4; first cuts 6; final cuts 10; Redskins @ Saints 19; home opener vs. Bengals 33

Thanks to the site for keeping us informed about the team's injured ...It's a shame but so is this. Now the other players must do their part and excel for this early season.
