Here is what you need to know on this Sunday morning:
Paul is a fighter
Niles Paul plays for my team.
I don’t necessarily want him throwing punches out of the field, especially at someone like teammate Markus White. But I do want him out there attacking the opposition with that same ferocity.
His tough-guy nature was hidden from the view of most fans at the wide receiver position. Paul was called on to block on most of his 164 offensive snaps and he took on opposing defenders with gusto.
Playing at tight end this year, his nasty on-field attitude should be on display for all to see. Keep an eye on him starting Thursday night in Buffalo.
This RG3 guy is popular
I managed to get in some of this AP picture yesterday on CSN Washington but the cropping requirement there prevent showing the full picture. Here is the AP photographer’s picture of the crowd trying to get Robert Griffin III’s autograph or handshake or any sort of acknowledgement from the new star.
I talked to the photographer and he had some other pictures from a short time later that showed that the fence had cracked. He told me that Griffin was a bit startled and took a couple of steps back when the fence partially gave way.
In case you missed it
Tarik reports on the camp scuffles yesterday, I hit on those on my practice report along with some impressions of Dezmon Briscoe. Also, unlike many players, Fred Davis had no issue with the Redskins slapping him with the franchise tag.
Today at Redskins Park
Nothing going on there today as the players have a day off. Practice resumes on Monday with the 10:40 walkthrough and a 3:00 practice that is open to fans. That will be the last open practice until Saturday. The time for that session is to be announced.
