Chris Neild has been waived-injured by the Redskins and any NFL team can place a claim on him, according to a report by Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.
Neild suffered a torn ACL on Monday and Mike Shanahan announced yesterday that the second-year nose tackle will be out for the season.
If no NFL team claims Neild he will revert to the Redskins injured reserve list. The process is the same one the Redskins went through with rookie cornerback Chase Minnifield last month.
They also just went through it with rookie wide receiver Darius Hanks. He was waived-injured earlier this week. According to Wilson, he cleared waivers and is now on the Redskins’ injured reserve list.
