Brian Orakpo will have an MRI on his his left shoulder. He sustained an injury while trying to tackle Chicago wide receiver Devin Hester in the first quarter of Saturday night’s preseason game.
However, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Redskins don’t believe that the injury is serious.
Orakpo went to the locker room after the injury. The TV cameras spotted the linebacker on the sideline later in the game. His shoulder pads had been removed but he did not have a sling or any other visible indication that would lead one to believe that the issue is serious.
The MRI will take place today or tomorrow but we might not find out the results until Mike Shanahan addresses the media after practice on Monday afternoon.
