Here is the promised RG3 report from Monday’s practice:
To get the question that has been buzzing around Twitter and elsewhere answered, no, RG3 did not throw any long passes. Well, he did find Leonard Hankerson in the end zone with a Hail Mary pass from about 35 yards. But we still haven’t seen him heave the ball downfield and have his receiver run under it. I suspect that we’ll see that on Sept. 9 in New Orleans, if not sooner.
Griffin did do a lot of what he has been doing best in practice, firing darts to receivers and tight ends running quick slant patterns. It’s not the most thrilling play to watch but it could set up a lot of second and five situations through the season.
One thing that RG3 has done a lot and continues to do is run. It's difficult to tell how effective his running is since the defense can't even give him a hard shove. He were going to get a peek at him running on Thursday but he called an audible away from a keeper when he saw the defense stacked to stop it.
For the day, Griffin was 8-14 with the one TD on the Hankerson Hail Mary and no interceptions.
Completions: Moss, Cooley, Garçon 4, Hankerson
Incompletions: Moss 3, Royster, Davis, Hankerson
