Here are some Redskins who helped and some who hurt themselves on Saturday night in Chicago.
Stock up
QB Kirk Cousins—He’s not going to challenge RG3 for the starting job and he hasn’t yet pushed Rex Grossman off of the roster. But he could well be Griffin’s top backup sooner rather than later.
CB Richard Crawford—It will be tough to keep him off of the roster after he broke up a pass (possibly should have had in interceptions) and hit the quarterback a couple of times on blitzes.
WR Aldrick Robinson—It’s unusual for a receiver to get 100 receiving yards in a game because they usually don’t play long enough. But Robinson made his case for a roster spot with 6 receptions for 104 yards including a 49-yard TD catch. On the TD catch he made a nice adjustment on a tipped Cousins pass and then outran the Bears reserves to the end zone.
Stock down
RB Antwan Bailey—The D. C. native had three carries and lost a fumble on one of them. His long shot chances of making it became even longer with that.
CB Richard Jones—He was beated short and long. The only times Jones was really close to his man, he committed pass interference on what probably was an uncatchable ball.
Adam Gettis—He played pretty well last week but not so much against the Bears. He gave up a sack, the defense got push through him on a few occasions and he committed a hold right out in the open on the Redskins third offensive play.
