Not convinced Cousins is a lock yet. He may be to raw, but I understand the idea if you put him on practice squad it diminishes his value. Also, Cooley is a lock. He's to versatile not to.

Rich,

You are spot on with all except Tim Hightower. Shanahan's praise of Tim reminds me of his praise for Beck ... just coach-speak. Tim did NOT run well in the Redskins system last year. And he has been the single worst RB in the NFL as a ball-catching RB. See this:

http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/07/04/three-years-of-drop-rate-running-backs/

Critical summary:
"[...] the numbers tell us that no running back has dropped a higher percentage of their passes since 2009 than the Redskins’ back. He has had 14.7% of catchable balls left on the ground, a number that dwarfs the second highest rate [11.9%]"

His skill in blitz pickup only goes so far to compensate.

HTTR!

Joe

Niles Paul is a lock?! He's an undersized pass-catching TE that forgot how to catch! I understand there are economics involved, but if he makes it over Cooley or Paulson I'll be surprised. Seems to me he's got to prove something in preseason to make the team.
