Here is what you need to know on this Friday, September 21, two days before RG3 and the 2012 Redskins make their home debut against the Bengals.
Chat on Sunday at 12:30
It’s our first home chat of the year and Tarik, Jen X, and yours truly will be in the press box at FedEx Field to talk about the Redskins and Bengals. It should be (and when was the last time you could say this about a Redskins game) an entertaining and high scoring affair in Landover.
We’ll get things rolling at about 12:30, see you then!
Kerrigan gets another sack
Sometime yesterday while Ryan Kerrigan was in practice or meetings, he picked up another sack.
Late in the third quarter against the Rams, Kerrigan and Stephen Bowen converged on quarterback Sam Bradford. Kerrigan got the QB low and started to take him down and Bowen finished off the sack. Originally, Bowen was credited with the sack. But after reviewing the game film, the official stat keepers with the NFL apparently decided that Bradford was going to go down based on what Kerrigan did. They changed the scoring and gave Kerrigan his second sack of the season.
With Brian Orakpo out for the season, the Redskins are going to need Kerrigan to become their primary pass rushing threat. They won’t need him to pick up any more sacks while he’s not at the stadium but they need all he can generate on game day.
