The Redskins announced that they have placed long snapper Nick Sundberg on injured reserve and that they have utilized the new “designated for return” label for him. He suffered a broken arm during Sunday’s 40-32 win over the Saints.
The designation allows them have the option to reactivate Sundberg after eight weeks. He will be allowed to practice in six weeks. Sundberg is expected to be in a cast for four to six weeks and there like will be a rehab period needed after that.
The Redskins signed veteran Justin Snow to handle the long snapping duties in Sundberg’s absence.
The Redskins also announced that they have added former Navy fullback Eric Kettani and running back Javarris Williams to the practice squad and released practice squad players running back Antwon Bailey, fullback Robert Hughes and defensive lineman Jason Shirley.
