Here are the Redskins’ inactive players for today’s game in Tampa:
QB Rex Grossman
WR Aldrick Robinson
RB Ryan Grant
OL Adam Gettis
LB Markus White
CB Cedric Griffin
S Brandon Meriweather
Meriweather and Robinson were expected to be active but they were involved in a collision on the field during warmups. CSNwashington.com’s Redskins Insider Tarik El-Bashir tweeted that “Meriweather looked to hurt leg/knee, according to witness. Aldrick appeared like his head/neck.”
It is a mild surprise that left tackle Trent Williams is active; he was questionable after injuring his right knee last week against the Bengals. According to El-Bashir, Williams is wearing a brace and is expected to start.
Kick returner Brandon Banks, who aslo was questionable with a hip injury, also is active. Banks also worked some at running back in the Redskins' option attack against the Bengals last week so he could be a valuable weapon to have available.
Also expected to be in the starting lineup is wide receiver Pierre Garçon, who has missed the last two games with a foot injury. Per El-Bashir, “Garcon warmed up with [quarterback] Griffin, doing a number of hard cuts and fade routes.”
A couple of other lineup changes have been announced. Reed Doughty will start at strong safety in place of DeJon Gomes and Leonard Hankerson will start at wide receiver over Josh Morgan.
The condition of the field has been a concern during the week as Florida State and South Florida played in Raymond James Stadium last night after some rain during the day. Per El-Bashir, while the field is chewed up in some areas, particularly near the goal line but, overall, it looks to be in better shape than many expected.
