Billy Cundiff’s job is safe – for now, anyway.
Coach Mike Shanahan said Monday he does not intend to hold a tryout for free agent kickers this week, which likely means Cundiff will be the Redskins' kicker Sunday when they host the Falcons.
“We’re not going to work out any kickers this week,” is all Shanahan would say when asked if Cundiff’s job was in jeopardy.
Cundiff kicked the game-winning field goal from 41 yards out with seven seconds remaining Sunday. Earlier in the game, he missed attempts from 41, 57 and 31 yards in the Redskins’ eventual 24-22 victory at Tampa Bay.
Cundiff is last in the NFL in field goal accuracy (6 for 10). Two of those misses, however, came from 57 and 62 yards out.

Fire his ass!!
