Do yourself a favor. Go right now and bookmark www.nfl.com/rookies on your browser. And then check it every Tuesday morning. That way you will get a head start on voting for Robert Griffin III as the NFL’s rookie of the week.
For the third time in his six games, the Redskins’ rookie quarterback is up for the award after he led his team to a 38-26 win over the Vikings last Sunday. He passed for 182 yards and a touchdown but one would suspect that he was nominated because of his legs. Griffin ran for 139 yards and two touchdowns including one on a 76-yard run that still has the NFL buzzing two days later.
Griffin has won the award both times he has been nominated. He first won the honors in his NFL debut as he threw for 320 yards and two touchdowns in the Redskins’ win over the Saints. The second overall pick of the 2012 draft was voted the award again in Week 4 when he led a late comeback win over the Bucs.
