Here is what you need to know on this Thursday, November 29, four days before the Giants face the Redskins at FedEx Field.
Claim on Babin
According to multiple reports, the Redskins were one of three teams to place waiver claims on defensive end Jason Babin, who was released by the Eagles on Tuesday. Babin was awarded to the Jaguars, who had priority based on their 2-9 record.
I spent a few paragraphs here yesterday discussing why the Redskins would have no interest in Babin because he did not fit their scheme. Apparently the Redskins were willing to make some adjustments in order to get some more pass-rushing ability into the lineup.
Redskins lagging in Pro Bowl voting
Although the Redskins are enjoying some additional team success this year and some increased national attention, it isn’t being reflected in fan voting for the Pro Bowl.
The NFL released the top five vote getters at each position yesterday and there are few Redskins to be found.
Robert Griffin III is fourth among quarterbacks, Alfred Morris is the fifth place running back and Lorenzo Alexander is fourth as the special teams demon.
The only snubs here are center Will Montgomery and tackle Trent Williams. Both of them are playing at a level that warrants Pro Bowl consideration.
If you want to help Montgomery and Williams get some props and help push Morris, RG3, and Alexander up in the vote standings, you can go here to place your vote.
