Here is what you need to know on this Saturday, November 24, nine days before the Redskins take on the Giants at FedEx Field.
RG3 rookie of the week
While receiving accolades from around the NFL on his Thanksgiving Day performance in Dallas, Robert Griffin III received an award for his performance four days earlier against the Eagles.
RG3 was voted the NFL’s rookie of the week for Week 11 in fan voting. He completed 14 of 15 passes for 200 yards and four touchdowns and no interceptions. That, as you may have heard, gave him a perfect quarterback rating of 158.3.
Griffin has won the award four times this year. The player considered to be his main rival for NFL offensive rookie of the year, Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, has won it three times.
After Griffin’s four-touchdown performance in Dallas, Luck and the other rookies have their work cut out for them if they want to keep RG3 from getting the award a for a fifth time.
Griffin’s play against Philly also earned him a nomination for the FedEx Air player of the week. He did not win the voting for that award. Matt Schaub earned it by passing for 527 yards in Houston’s overtime win over Jacksonville.
One of the best parts of winning a big game is reveling in the misery that the other side suffers. This YouTube video captures those feelings from Dallas radio.
By the way, Cowboys fans are scared to death of RG3.
