For the first time all year, the Redskins’ inactive list has no injured players on it. Pierre Garçon and Brandon Meriweather are active. Both are expected to start.
The inactives are QB Rex Grossman, OL’s Maurice Hurt and Adam Gettis, CB Richard Crawford, LB Mario Addison, WR Dezmon Briscoe, and DL Doug Worthington.
Grossman has been the Redskins’ third-string QB all year and he has yet to dress for a game. The rookie Gettis also has been inactive all season.
Briscoe and Gomes have been active most of the year but they have been pushed to the inactive list by the returns of Garçon and Meriweather.
It appears that Josh LeRibeus has overtaken Hurt as the primary interior line backup; after being active all season, Hurt did not dress for the Panthers game.
The rookie Crawford was the nickel back earlier in the year due to injuries but the Redskins now have him in more of a developmental role.
As long as the rest of the defensive line is healthy, first-year player Worthington usually will be inactive unless the Redskins expect to face a particularly run-heavy attack. The Eagles are very pass happy so Worthington is inactive.
With Meriweather still not 100 percent healthy they are keeping all five safeties active and sitting one of their eight linebackers.
The Eagles' inactives include QB Michael Vick.
