Here is what you need to know on this Monday, December 24, six days before the Cowboys take on the Redskins at FedEx Field.
Dallas game flexed
What has been anticipated for the past few weeks became reality Sunday night.
It was announced last night that the Cowboys-Redskins game next week will be moved to prime time. Forget about the 1:00 time it says on your tickets, the game was flexed.
If the Redskins win, they win the NFC East title. If they lose, they need some help to get a wild card spot.
Morris finishes strong
The best running backs in the league finish the game strong and Alfred Morris did just that yesterday.
The rookie back couldn’t get untracked against the Eagles and he had just 18 yards on nine carries in the first half. But Morris started rolling in the second 30 minutes, picking up some nice chunks of yardage as the Philly defense appeared to be wearing down. He picked up 73 yards on 13 carries (5.6 yards/carry).
The strong second half pushed his total up to 91 yards for the game and 1413 for the season. Morris will need 104 rushing yards in the season finale against Dallas to break Clinton Portis’ single-season team record of 1516 yards set in 2005.
