The NFL confirmed today something that we wrote about here on Monday. The Redskins could clinch a spot in the NFL playoffs this Sunday.
It all starts if the Redskins beat the Eagles. If they do that and the Giants (@ Ravens), Bears (@ Cardinals), and Vikings (@ Texans) all lose, Washington will clinch at least a wild card spot in the postseason.
Having that happen will be similar to drawing to an inside straight. The Vikings are 7.5-point underdogs in Houston while New York is favored by 1.5 over Baltimore and the Bears are considered 5.5 points better than the Cardinals.
Going in the Redskins favor is the fact that the Texans are still in a battle for home field throughout the AFC playoffs, the Ravens are trying to clinch the NFC North title, and the Bears are on the road.
The Redskins can win the NFC East title regardless of what any other team does by winning their last two games.
Go here for a more comprehensive look at the Redskins’ playoff possibilities.

Id be really impressed if the Ravens clinched the NFC North. Some might even call it impossible.
