Here is what you need to know on this Saturday, January 5, one day before the Redskins take on the Seahawks at FedEx Field in the wild card round of the NFL playoffs.
Chat at 4:00 Sunday, Minute-by-Minute blog starts today
We will have all hands on deck at the FedEx Field press box on Sunday with Tarik, Jen X, and yours truly pitching in to make this a playoff caliber chat. We’ll get things going at 4:00 and be sure you’re following on Twitter @Rich_TandlerCSN for any pre-chat discussions.
We’ll also be cranking up our wildly popular Minute-by-Minute blog to count you down to kickoff with news and notes covering every story from every angle. That will get going early Saturday afternoon so check back often.
We’ll see you back here this afternoon and in the chat on Sunday.
Who to root for
Yes, the complex scenarios are over and the Redskins are in the playoffs. It’s win and advance, lose and go home no matter what anyone else does. But there is still some Redskins interest in who wins and who loses today.
Vikings over Packers (@ Green Bay, Packers favored by 7.5)—The only reason to care who wins this game is the fact that a Minnesota win keeps alive the slim possibility of the NFC Championship game being played at FedEx Field. If the Redskins beat the Seahawks, they would be the lowest surviving seed unless the Vikings are still alive.
More Seahawks arrogance
Yesterday I took a look at how some Seahawks players seem to be content to let their mouths do the talking for them rather than their play. I ran across this clever picture from the Twitter account of Seattle receiver Doug Baldwin.

So apparently the Redskins are supposed to be afraid of the Seahawks. And this coming from a guy who would have ranked fifth among Redskins WR’s in receptions and receiving yards. Actually, it’s kind of cute, kind of like a little puppy tugging on your pants leg. Slightly annoying perhaps, but ultimately meaningless.
