Rich,
I love your blog. But I am at a loss about your and others' criticism of Brandon Banks. Before RGIII arrived, Brandon was about the only Redskin to give me hope. In my view, he never was the same guy, however, after he was stabbed in that nightclub incident. I really believe he deserves another chance to prove himself in a really rugged position. He is not a wide receiver and shares this with Desmond Howard, who the Skins tried unsuccessfully to make a wideout. But I believe Brandon can be as fine a punt/kick returner as there is these days. I only hope some coach or GM smarter than those with the Skins find a way to secure his services.

Rick, thanks for the comment but I utterly disagree. The nightclub "incident", which involved Banks being a knucklehead, was in the summer of 2011. Even though the woulds were not all that serious, I can maybe see it excusing lack of productivity in the first half of that season but beyond that, sorry, you've got to get it done and he hasn't.

Howard, by the way, was drafted sixth overall to be a wide receiver, where he won the Heisman. The Redskins were not playing him out of position. It's not a matter of him being forced to play out of position, he was simply a bust with no work ethic.
