Here is what you need to know on this Friday, February 1, 2 days before Super Bowl XLVII.
Super Bowl chat on Sunday
We know the Redskins aren’t playing but we’re still going to crank up the chat machine and talk some Skins—and 49ers and Ravens—during the Super Bowl on Sunday.
So pull out the second screen and join in. We can talk about free agency and the draft, how things stack up next year and whatever is going on in the big game.
We’ll get things going right about kickoff, 6:30.
Stuck at a Super Bowl party? Yeah, I hate them, too. But you can get out your phone and chime in from the party; the chat interface works great on tablets and mobile phones.
See you on Super Sunday!
RG3 to narrate Williams feature for ESPN
There will be endless hours of pregame coverage on Sunday but here are seven minutes you might want to check out.
ESPN is doing a seven-minute segment on how Doug Williams, playing in Super Bowl XXII 25 years ago, changed the perception that many had of black quarterbacks. The piece will be narrated by Robert Griffin III.
It appears that Williams is quite the RG3 fan.
“Having the opportunity to play and win the Super Bowl 25 years ago, and to have Robert Griffin lll narrating this piece on me for ESPN, wow what a blessing!!” Williams wrote to ESPN. “Thanks, and Hail to the Redskins.”
The downside is that you’re going to have to sift through a four-hour ESPN Sunday Countdown show to find that seven minutes feature.
In case you missed it
- Who ya got for ROY?
- Breakout candidate: PK Kai Forbath
- Grading the Redskins: Cornerbacks struggle
- Danny Smith respected by players but not loved by fans
Days until: Start of 2013 league year 39; NFL draft 83; OTA’s start 103

Can't wait to see the piece! Haven't heard a peep from my man RG3! Hope to see him at awards show Sat.
